All workers need to hear this regardless of political party! It might be the only way to dismantle the maga mindset, and bring enough people together to create a critical mass that brings the changes we and the Earth need so desperately!

This argument reacjes the same conclusion that I insist on: if you provide heallthcare, housing, and jobs universally to all strata of the working class, ypu benefit all diaproportially affected groups regardless of individual identity

This is exactly what I need. I have been having this debate with my spouse - he's an absolutist, I'm a pragmatist; he studied politics, I studied/worked in economics/accounting/public policy. I tell him that he will never understand the exploitation others experience because he's white cis male.

Because I didn't study politics, my position has been formed from experience within the bureaucracy, seeing how the machinery of government and politics works.

I grew up believing in equality and justice and fairness, and I fought against the system as best I could. I learned the hard way that the system was inherently unfair.

The more I read widely and observe geopolitically, the more I understand that the common element to inequality and injustice is capitalism.

No one is equal until everyone is equal.

In solidarity and peace.

You just cristalized in words all my feelings and ideas what is wrong with central left that most likely led to a rise in populism manipulated by the capital. Thank you so much for this essay. Was a pleasure to read such a beautiful text.

I agree that it's possible to look at intersectionalism with regard to class and identity. The shift from class to identity within anarchist circles was what made Bookchin quite unpopular. But I don't think it has to be either or. We are currently living in a time where people are more educated than ever on intersectionalism. That means something. We don't have to decide between the two.
